Tulsa auction yields $1 million bid for Hughes car
I'm not sure where this car came from, but somebody paid $1 million for it the other day. See story here. The new owner, a former pro basketball player, envisions the car ending up in the Evergreen Aviation Museum, alongside Hughes' famed flying boat. That tidbit is in a story here.

You posted the link to the story yourself, and Hughes' old credit card was found under the wood trim of the glove box (he had a habit of stashing things in hidden places). lol (will).
Anyway, he bought it and redid the engine and body. from the news releases, seems it was the top dog of it's day. Used it as a platform to chase and film airplanes when testing the new landing gears and such!
If I'd had the money lose, I'd have paid 5 million for it! FYI

The provenance for the car is pretty strong, and the credit card is pretty suggestive. I don't understand the skectism??? BTW (I didn't know they had credit cards in 1936).
The credit card records would be a wonderful way to track Hughes during the critical 1953 to 1963 if he used it then.(couldn't resist making certain people "clench their buttocks." (quote from "The Spy Who knew Too Little."
Now what can be learned from the credit card hidden in the "Hughes Car".
1. Credit cards weren't invented till 1950 and not widely used till some years thereafter.
2. So we can suppose a likey date of 1955 and thereafter for the credit card use.
3. The time period covered is same as Louella Parsons and Walter Winchell reported Jean Peters and Howard having a son and he growing to adult hood.
4. Wonder which young and ambitious female US attorney will get the bright idea to supeona the credit card records. Humm, I wonder who??? And track down Howard and Jean's movements.
5. Wonder if those credit card receipts (and their signatures) show Howard out and about when a whole slew of Mormons swore he was in the Penthouse????
BTW: Remember a few weeks ago, when I told you, there is more to be written about Howard than all that has already been written??? Now are you starting to understand???
Go up to Salt Lake city and ask for an interview with the President of the Mormon church. You'll probably get one now! You could start with their view of the Mormon will but there is so much more to ask!
The credit card was not like we have now. It was issued by C.D.Rand & Co., an auto parts store located in Southern California. It allowed Hughes to make purchases on credit only at that store.

I have found a picture of the card and figured it out, about the same time as you posted. It looks to simply be more accurately a "permission to charge card". I used to have the same arrangement at several facilities but since they knew my face, I only had to sign the receipt. It bears the date 1936 also. I could find no modern record of that company and am speculating that it has gone out of business. But am having my agents in Southern Cal try to run down the owners to see if they have receipts to copy etc.
Interestingly it has two fairly clear signatures by Howard, that might just come in handy later.

1. You CAN'T counterfeit US treasuries because they are all registered and can't be redeemed without proof positive that the original purchaser or an assignee is holding. So the part about counterfeit is a COVER STORY IMHO
2. The Italian law is VERY clear, the holders of ANY such instruments that don't declare them, MUST be prosecuted. Therefore: The JAPANESE MUST HAVE BEEN CARRYING DIPLOMATIC PASSPORTS.
3.The bonds were confiscated but the carriers NOT arrested, which leaves only ONE senerio, The carriers had a diplomatic passport but the bonds were not in a DIPLOMATIC POUCH (THEY CAN'T BE OPENED BY ANY OTHER GOVERNMENT).
4. Carrying this much money by diplomats and NOT putting it in official diplomatic post, must mean that it is somehow illegal! No other explanation.
5. Recent US laws requiring disclosure from the Swiss about US national deposits, indicates that the Japanese were bagmen for a US depositor.
6. Many of these bonds are only issued to GOVERNMENTS (which also makes them impossible to counterfeit) so therefore the original purchaser MUST HAVE BEEN A GOVERNMENT.
6. The Japanese interior minister has resigned.
Most likely scenarios and conclusions: Bankers in the US(or others in high finance) desiring to hide their ill gotten gains (likely from the recent derivative engineered depression) got the interior minister of Japan to purchase the bonds for them and then transfer them to the Americans. Then two Japanese with diplomatic passports were hired to deposit the funds in a safety deposit box in Switzerland and turn the keys, etc over to the Americans. The bonds would then be quietly traded as they matured over the next 30 years, with valid registrations and with no record of them ever being hidden in Swiss banks.
Read a bunch of your columns and such and must say Geoff, you're beginning to sound like a politician or at least one in training.lol

Found a timeline about Howard that said he had a vasectomy in 1955, anybody know if that is true???? And who was the DR who did it or did one of his accidents commit self surgery??? lol

Heard a rumor that serious money was being offered for DNA of ANY close relatives of Howard or Jean! Just a mouth swab and cash your check! Wish I could collect! lol

I can't figure out why anyone would be trying to get the DNA of either Hughes or Jean.
Mike and his family came to see me when it was still the Jackson Five, He was a nice kid, but a little slow. Might have just been an off day! He later left his core values and kinda ricocheted around life, but I'll always remember him as a decent kid.
This society loves scuz and it always irritated me why the press took such pleasure in insinuating every lousy thing they could about him.
Much the way they did about Hughes. I think the press plays way to much on the envy of the general public of the stardom of people like Mike and Howard. The limelight punishes them enough, we need to be a little kind, in my opinion and withhold judgment until convicted, or maybe even withhold judgment even then, as illustrated by the high percentage of people exonerated of capital crimes by DNA.
We all have dirty laundry and go to the bathroom the same way (usually, lol) but why does the yellow press have to take a camera in there with you and then comment on your efficiency???? Just lacks any kind of honor or decency.
DNA is the ultimate truth, looks like someone is looking for it!
Who cares why?? Scare up some Howard or Jean item with DNA on it, sign an affidavit that you personally know it's source, and cash in! Money is money, a nut's money spends the same as any other. Be nice and I'll let you have my finders fee!
FBI and CIA both have it already but those files aren't eligible for an open records request,....yet!
I have a picture of the Howard hughes credit card that was found. My father is the one who found it in the dashboard so if any of you dont believe it ask me!

I'm sure the card has passed through too many hands to be used for DNA, but I would be interested in anything that might be of cloth that would have human secretions on them. If the care has old seat covers under the new ones, I would very much be interested in testing them for DNA, etc. If anyone knows who has his old Fedora's, they would be a good item for DNA test. If the tests turn out positive, I am willing to compensate whoever helps me. I will definately write a book and will give credit. If it helps find Howard's son, there can well be rewards there too. DNA would only be found inside the teeth and bones at this point in time and would need to be familyied in as in his parents and jean`s parents.Someone asking for DNA of those related could be killing off any and all witnesses and any relateds.I have seen many many witnesses murdered and even some of those related killed off and covered up by^^^ trillions in the wrong HANDS!.
